I finally found "my geese" on the grass by the Mill pond and I have to say I just love the way the pictures came out with the sun ray's. So this is my picture(s) of the day!
A little background on why I named this blog what I did.
I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

Has anyone wondered yet why I have not checked on my geese yet? I know I have ! LOL!!! Yes here I go again.
They did not seem to be afraid of me,
I think they missed me. I think the one on the right is telling the one on the left "Hey, There she is! She's baaaaack! Let's do some exceptional posing for her!"
And they did!

This is beginning to look like a Duck, Duck, Goose blog, I have been posting so many of them lately. I just can't help myself, I find them so beautiful, graceful and awesome. I also know this will be short lived, they will not be here much longer, at least not this close. So please allow me a few more.
This is at the end of my street going towards Westwood!
There is a fence there, although it is torn and I could have actually walked up on the field they were acting as if they knew I could not get any closer,
Or perhaps they know me by now and they know I am no threat and they were simply "posing" for me. It really does almost look that way!
I think I probably should name these guys, I am beginning to know them so well. LOL!!!
Any suggestions!

Wow today was/is a beautiful. Actually sat out in the sun, and not to get warm but to actually get some color on my face and arms. For me in my little world, is about as close to heaven as it comes.
Walking around the pond I found "my" geese hiding place. I was rather impressed. I never could get to that part of the pond until today, and although I still was wearing my "mountain boots" and got them a little wet I could not care any less!

And something else happened today.I think I saw (and took this picture of) a hummingbirds nest. I have always searched for one, only knowing they are quite small, I was shocked to see this right above my head when I was taking the pictures of "my geese"
So I sure would love it if a reader who may pass by here could tell me whether or not that is what kind of nest this is. I sure would appreciate it!
Thanks!!!

Iswear that Lassen County California, it can be beautiful in the morning, warm, etc. Then it can rain and go so far as to snow and THEN have beautiful sunshine again. I have never seen any normalcy to our weather up here. Today was indeed no exception. Started out with me putting on a tank top expecting to sit and/or work in the yard and get some sun. Next thing I know it is raining, here comes the wind-breaker coat. After that it was all about putting on a heavy coat, beanie and ditching snow. I give up. But just to point it out, I went to the mill pond again looking for "my geese." The ones I posted just yesterday? They were there, this ought to show you what I mean by the differance in Lassen County weather!

Gosh I love the beauty that surrounds me here. And as I was walking I was listening to the ducks and /or the geese saying what they have to say as I believe today is the first day of hunting season, and tomorrow morning I am sure I will be awoke to the sounds of gunshots at dawn as the hunters will be out.
Also as very much as I love animals and birds and such, those gunshots are not ones aimed at human beings as you can hear in so many city's throughout the U.S.A. and for that, I am VERY thankful!

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
