A little background on why I named this blog what I did.

I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

A special, special day

My son Travis Lee Mosley who was born up here (in Susanville) met his future bride Tiffany up here "rompin" their 4 wheel drive pick up trucks. Travis in his, Tiffany in her's Tiffany has been a part of this family ever since. They made it "official" in Hawaii in a truly romantic marriage made for just two.
So although these photos are in Hawaii, the mother and mother-in-laws (that would be me)LOL! body was here, my heart was with the kids on this most special of day.
Sooo may I now introduce to you
Travis Lee and Tiffany Jane Mosley!!!

The beautiful bride, Tiffany

What a sunset eh?

Beautiful to no end!

Breathtaking!

Looks like Tiffany was having a bit of fun! LOL!!!

My handsome son and his bride

And this one I plan on having blown up and perhaps I will make the frame for it!
It is surely one beautiful picture.
I may even use this for a Mellow Yellow Monday next week. Ya can't get much mellower than that yellow!!!

Old ladies need their sleep!

My young one Hunter E. finally got here at 3:30 this morning. We visited for a bit, then him and his girlfriend Becca went to sleep, and I caught a couple hours myself. We all got up around 10 A.M. and they had to go pick up his motorcycle. They pretty much had to turn around and get back but not before Travis and gal pal Tiffany came by. Travis is another of my sons and Hunters older brother. So of course it was picture taking time and that is what I did. Is that not what good little mommies are suppose to do? LOL!!!
How about 97 pictures? Yup, that is how many I took of us all. I was even able to get in a couple of them.
Hunter and Becca took off at 1:00 and I came to the computer and went through 97 pictures! LOL!!!
Here are a couple of my faves, no don't worry, there is not 97 of them!

From the left, Becca, Hunter E. Travis and Tiffany!
The girlfriends, Becca and Tiffany
All us girls, Tiffany, Myself and Becca!
And I love this pic of Hunter E. and Becca! I think they make a cute couple.
Ah, too be young again!!!
Hunter and Mommy. I tell ya, I feel like I look a hundred years old in this picture after standing next to the young girls! Of course in my defense, I hardly got a bit of sleep in the last 48 hours, waiting for up for them and then getting up before everyone else.
Old ladies need their sleep!

Being Thankful in Lassen County!

Thanksgiving Day of 2008. With my boys all grown and leading their own lives, and 3 of them living in Southern Ca. this Thanksgiving was destined to be a quiet one. Only my son Travis and his girlfriend Tiffany along with my grandson Jeremiah Lee was all I could hope for seeing as far as family goes. They did not disappoint me. Although they were consuming their Thanksgiving feast at Tiffany's mom's house they did not forget to come to "Mom's" house to wish me a Happy Thanksgiving, along with allowing me to do the proverbial picture taking.
An unforeseen visit by my hubby's nephew, (with his daughter and girlfriend ) visiting friends up here this Thanksgiving weekend allowed me to add a couple more pictures for my picture(s)
of the day.
A day of friends and family.

In the middle is my hubby's nephew Kenneth, on the left is his daughter and on the right his girlfriend. This is out in front of our house. As you can see it was a beautiful and clear sunny day. Also it was not even that cold, not even chilly!

Then this afternoon as they were headed to the "other mother-in-laws" home is my Jeremiah Lee on the left and my son Travis Lee and his girlfriend Tiffany.
Jeremiah is sporting a couple of newly missing upper front teeth!
But they are growing in so quickly that I do not think that he will be singing this Christmas "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth."
This Jeremiah Lee and I on Thanksgiving 2008. It goes without saying that it is quite obvious how easy it is for me to come up with a couple things I am thankful for, when one of them is sitting right on my lap!
Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers and friends.
PEACE!!!

Mother Nature had a good cry today Day 62

Today has been a very and much needed rainy day. A day when you do not even want to really venture outside. A day that if I were a little bit different in my way of thinking I simply would not have even gotton dressed. Getting dressed on a day like today seems almost foolish.  The wind is blowing in such a boisterous gale that my hatless head would become no more than a 60's beehive hairdo, the rain an unwanted shower. Mother nature has done today what has been needed for quite awhile, and other than this little rant I am thankful she is here.
On a lighter side because of her appearance I was wondering how I would pull off a picture of the day.
But I was lucky!
My son and his girlfriend along with my  Jeremiah Lee came over to see dear old mom and try to brighten up her day. So with my camera in hand my picture(s) of the day is Travis and Tiffany reading this blog for the very first time. They had not been told yet by me that I had started this one. However day before yesterday, my young one Hunter E. and his brother Troy decided to "Google"  Pinetowns First Lady and they found it. So my secret is out. (It wasn't meant to be a lifelong secret but perhaps a 3 or 4 month period before I planned on sharing in case I could not keep it up) so I decided to tell Travis and Tiffany myself before the cat, (that would be alley-cat) got out of the bag!

and just to show how much water we got today, these are pictures of my chairs on our newly built front porch and the water they were able to hold. All in all "Today was a VERY rainy day"
It is almost scary to think of what it may have been like if this were or had been all snow!

Oh and did I mention alllllll the pine needles, "A blowin' in the wind"

A note to Troy and Hunter E. Day 60

This is a cheat post as it was taken yesterday, when the weather was so absolutely beautiful, warm, wonderful, in the true meaning of every word. This is my son Travis and his girlfriend Tiffany and of course Jeremiah Lee's new home they just moved into in Westwood.
A post for Troy and Hunter E.
Love Mom!

The mice will play

Sometimes you just are feeling silly, goofy, nutty or whatever. Today was one of those days. Starting with Tiffany, my son Travis's girlfriend. Acting seductive for her boyfriends moms camera, (that would be me) and we all had fun with it!

A friend of mine Shawna stopped by also. Ya know, my husband was gone for the day out cutting wood and it is just weird how I just so happened to have so much company on a Thursday afternoon. Maybe there is truth to the saying, "When the cats away the mice will play" It makes no nevermind any way, cuz I had fun. Plus I did not get off the hook or out of work. Someones got to unload the truck and stack the wood. And that of course was I!

And then theres my dog Nala.

Lake Almanor

This is Lake Almanor. I live about 6 miles from this beautiful lake. Tiffany my son Travis's girlfriend invited me along with my son Hunter and my grandson Jeremiah for a quick dip.

Just me and my Camera,

Lake Almanor. Right here is known as Stump Beach where we stopped to play.

I would do anything if this picture would have come out better. This is Mount Lassen. I have lived up here for almost 30 years now and this is the first time I have ever seen Mount Lassen without snow on the top of it. It is amazing to me, that A. it has snow on it all year round, and B. that this year it does not!!!

Tiffany and Jeremiah going in,

Jeremiah and myself (grandma) going in. This picture looks like he swallowed a mouth full of water!

Always got to have that "cute picture of the grandson"

And this is Tiffany and my son Hunter watching me take all these zillions of pictures. It was a nice couple of hours, and maybe you can see why I love it up here soooo much.

Hunter and his car for day

My son Hunter removing a starter from his car with the help of Tiffany. When he gets his car back to running he plans on moving down to southern Ca, to be by his other brother Troy. I will cry and i will miss him terribly. He is after all, my young one!
This was taken at 12:35 and the temperature is 73 degrees and beautiful outside.

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
