A little background on why I named this blog what I did.

I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

Been caught smiling

Been a difficult few months for my family. To be able to see my hubby (Dave) laughing this hard today and smiling this big is great!

Basement time

Watching Jeremiah again today, he did a bit of "hanging around" with the guy's. I guess hanging around with the guys starts when they are boys! LOL!!!

The White Family

We all went and visited Dave's brother Ray again before Andrea and Michael had to leave to go back home. It was sad to see them go, but I did get some good family photo's.
Ray Dave's brother is quite ill and so these visit's are extra, extra special!!!

Can you feel the love or what??? Awesome!

A smile today

Todays post will go down in "Allison's memory " as being one of my favorites. My husband Dave did not have a very good childhood, matter of fact a pretty shitty childhood as far as childhoods go.He never ever even knew who his father was and still does not 62 years later.

(My father died two weeks ago yesterday and we have been to southern, Ca. and back for his funeral)

When he met my Dad 6 1/2 years ago, him and my Dad hit it off just great. My husband always told me my dad was like the dad he never had, and my father always told me and my husband that if we were to ever break up (Dave and I) that the door would remain open to Dave (and I am sure of that).

Anyway it has been a real rough couple weeks for us, always thinking and reminiscing. My poor husband is taking it rather hard, so the reason I say that the pictures today will go down in my memory is, a local man who has been here in this town forever happened to drive by and see Dave and I . His name is Ray. Ray has been friends with Dave forever and I was introduced when Dave and I got together. He is considered by us as a very dear friend, and when Dave saw him today, Dave smiled.

The first smile I have seen in a couple weeks.

I think I need say no more.

Just Ray

Yup, it was real heartwarming to me to see my husband smile, actually laugh again.

Dogs Dave and a hot day

Today  we had heat, wonderful, wonderful sunshine and the temperature to match it! It was GLORIOUS!
It even got the hubby to go outside and play a little himself along with our water hose loving dog "Buick"

He LOVES to jump up at the hose. (My dog, not my husband) LOL!!!

Buick Lee and Nala Marie

Buick Lee and Nala Marie just about have to be my picture(s) of the day. My computer has been on non stop screw up for about 48 hours. Since I am NOT computer literate I can mainly just bitch and pray and try to figure out things I know nothing about. Stormy, stormy weather with lots of wind, I captued a couple sky pictures for SkyWatch Friday for my Westwood Daily Photo blog, which was not intentional but after looking at the sky , it seemed the thing to do, so I did!
I walked out in the backyard for a second time to help Dave with his truck for a second and I knew I ahad better "use" my dogs again for the day. I was aware I was not going to be jogging around the block , ya know?
So here's one more shot of my "kids"

Water Eggs in Pinetown?

Water Eggs is what my husband Dave called these when I downloaded the pictures of them on the computer right now! I think it is a good name for the little water droplets that are forming around the hose. This is different from the one we are purposely trying to do. This is happening due to a broken pipe, although neatly wrapped for winter like is done every year , when we noticed this a couple days ago it was obvious some animal had dug and tugged on our wrap. This spigot is on the side of the house and in winter is not seen very often. Something quite easy to forget about until the spring thaw!
OR UNTIL IT BREAKS!

However it did give me my picture(s) of the day!
And I have to admit that "water eggs" is a good name for these!
I just have not asked my husband WHAT laid these water eggs,
Perhaps it is better that I do not know!!!
PEACE!!!

Hey, I just thought of something,
maybe there is a future in water egg development!!!!

It's a whole lot easier for me if you did it!

I can't think of a better picture of the day then of my hubby out shoveling snow,
looking fine as wine

He is now aware of me taking pictures!

And I succeed in a smirk
But then I get

"The Smile"
When I first met him he had a saying I had never heard before and it was
"It is a whole lot easier for me if you do it!"
Sooo, Today I get to say
"Thanks Dave for shoveling the snow, because, after all, it is a whole lot easier for me when YOU do it!"
Peace,

Fire and Pine Needles

Dave, the hubby is out doing one last pine needle raking and burning before the snow is suppose to fly tomorrow night. He is out on the street doing this to also help thaw out the ground. This is a newly finished deck and we are making sure that the rain nor melting snow is going to go into the newly built basement.

Plus There is just something about fire that I think mesmerizes most humans. I know it does myself.

And it looks to me that he may be enjoying this a bit!

And that it really can't be called work.

And of course he could not even get it done without our dog "Buick" showing the way!

A wet dog, a rainy day, a picture, call it done Day 65

Impracticability of pulling off a picture a day showed itself again  today as the difficulty of finding or figuring out a picture I could take. I have found though since starting this, that if I wait SOMETHING usually shows itself. But today, today has been different. The pouring rain is keeping us home bound (and I have no complaints) as I do not care for rain. My preference for snow is quite apparent in the fact you don't see me hanging out in the rain much LOL!!!

I really did think I would be posting the first real snow for this time of year, but darkness is falling and falling fast and if by chance it were to start snowing which I think it will I will not be able to capture it. So today I give you a wet dog. The neighbors little dog came over to play with Nala and Buick and when he came in he was just soaking wet. Hiding from my dogs he jumped up on Dave's chair perhaps to get warm rather than play.

As you can see by the unshaven Dave it is apparent we never had any plan on leaving the house LOL!!!

I think they are both rather surprised by each others looks right now!

Matter of fact they look a little similar on this rainy day.

But jealousy kicks in and Nala and Buick can no longer stand the attention that Dave is giving little Romeo.

NOTE: I am just this second done writing this post and our Roommate, (He lives in a back house) just came in from work from Susanville. He said it is snowing and sticking on Fredonyer pass. This mountain pass is 6 or 7 miles east of here on highway 36!

Well it gets me off the hook for what I will be posting for a picture of the day tomorrow!

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
