A little background on why I named this blog what I did.

I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

A bird in a tree

July 5th ended up being a beautiful day. I did my usual walk with the dogs to the Mill pond and again it's beauty did not let me down!

A bird in a tree, can make even me smile today!

Duck, Duck,Goose and weather!

Iswear that Lassen County California, it can be beautiful in the morning, warm, etc. Then it can rain and go so far as to snow and THEN have beautiful sunshine again. I have never seen any normalcy to our weather up here. Today was indeed no exception. Started out with me putting on a tank top expecting to sit and/or work in the yard and get some sun. Next thing I know it is raining, here comes the wind-breaker coat. After that it was all about putting on a heavy coat, beanie and ditching snow. I give up. But just to point it out, I went to the mill pond again looking for "my geese." The ones I posted just yesterday? They were there, this ought to show you what I mean by the differance in Lassen County weather!

First day of spring

Icould not have been happier with my "First day of spring" pictures if I had tried! They are soooo self explanatory! I just love them!

The colors of Pinetown Ca, 96137 Day 57

Yesterday as I walked to my son and his girlfriends new house they are moving into, I forgot to bring my camera. Yes I was shocked also LOL!!! But what I had passed on that walk was something I knew I just had to come back today and take pictures of. This is on my street at the end of it and overlooking the town of Westwood, Ca. 96137. I don't think I have to explain anymore. The colors are so vibrant, so gorgeous, that I just stood there for quite awhile taking it all in.
They say a storm is coming with snow, and soon. Today's beauty perhaps is that calm before the storm. Then these would be pictures laid out in a blanket of white!

Gosh I love the beauty that surrounds me here. And as I was walking I was listening to the ducks and /or the geese saying what they have to say as I believe today is the first day of hunting season, and tomorrow morning I am sure I will be awoke to the sounds of gunshots at dawn as the hunters will be out.
Also as very much as I love animals and birds and such, those gunshots are not ones aimed at human beings as you can hear in so many city's throughout the U.S.A. and for that, I am VERY thankful!

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
