A little background on why I named this blog what I did.

I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

Just a ride home please

Walking back from the store I realized it was a bit warm and items in my bag were melting, (ice cream) and I better call Dave to see if he would pick me up. I made it all the way to Robber's Creek Bridge before I realized what took him so long to come get me.

I see him approaching,

and then it becomes apparent,

As the familiar head of my dog "Buick" is looking out the sun roof,

And the faint outline of my dog "Nala" in the back seat

that he had decided to load up the dogs to come and get me.
Hey, the ice cream was nice and soft when I finally got home!

Mooney Road Bridge

Walking to Westwood from Pinetown requires you to go down Mooney Rd.which has a little bridge that goes over Robbers Creek.
Tonight I found myself walking to Westwood and back. I have not been out that way at that time of the evening, (it was 6:30 P.M.) and stopped at Robber's Creek, hopped over the fence to grab a couple pictures. I liked the way it was looking, the sun setting, kind of overcast.
So todays picture(s) is Robber's creek and bridge on the south side. I have never taken any pictures from this way before. The snow stays on that side forever!

Things are starting to turn green around here. Finally!!!

The Bridge

Under the bridge

This was taken this morning "under the bridge" off the railroad tracks from Mooney. I woke up to an absolutely beautiful day and could hardly wait to go for a walk (camera in hand of course) and enjoy the sun that was actually producing warmth. Before I left, I was listening to the news and they were talking about how this part of Ca. (N-NE) was going to have great weather all week. Well I am not sure where the weatherman thinks this part of Ca. is or if he even knows WHERE Ca. is, because as I write this now, (5:49 P.M.) without a doubt we have something blowing in or blowing by. Regardless it is blowing and I hate the wind! LOL!!!
Anyway here are the pics of under the bridge. (The train tracks going over Robbers Creek on Mooney Rd.)

Wow,it was amazing those few hours where the sun was out and with it came warmth. Oh well I guess I must wait for another day!

Railroad Tracks are a no-no!

Ihave taken a lot of pictures of Robber's Creek. This time I took these pictures as I was doing something a little illegal (although I did not see the sign until after I took these pictures) In the following you will see a bridge. That is what I walk on when I am walking to Westwood on Mooney Rd. That is where I take all the pictures of Robber's Creek from.
But I was not suppose to be on the tracks. Duh? I just got carried away. Thank god I was not carried away by a train! It was a stupid move and I will not do it again!

Today I am standing on the Railroad tracks looking in the direction I am usually standing. It is with out a doubt a beautiful March day. I heard birds singing and chirping on my walk. I mean REALLY making a lot of noise. It was just awesome. Spring is in the air!

Most of the ice that was here just last week is melted and/or melting. It is all soooo beautiful!

Something odd in the creek

Idefinitely found myself  stopping to take a double take at this. I was walking towards the store and I was crossing the little bridge that goes over Robbers creek, when it caught my eye. Now I do not know what may come to some one else's mind, but something came to my mind when I saw this. I am not even going to type what it was, but I did find it to be an interesting picture.
So this is what my picture(s) of the day will be.
I still am not sure what it is. I suppose it may just be ground in the middle of the frozen creek. I just don't remember seeing ground there before. I guess come spring I will find out!

Robbers Creek

Crossing over Robbers Creek on Moody Rd, is the only way one can really walk to Young's Market, the only in town store in Westwood from Pinetown, at least in the winter with snow still on the ground.
It is unbelievable how beautiful the weather has been here in Westwood/Pinetown these last few days. Today as I took this walk to the store my outdoor thermometer said 51 degrees outside. I actually ended up carrying not only the groceries home but a couple of layers of clothing.
Yet as can be seen in this picture Robbers Creek still has a cover of ice over it.
I am sure one would not want to try to ice skate on it though, I am pretty sure you would not be ice skating but swimming along with a few possible curse words escaping your mouth due to the temperature of the water, LOL!!!

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
