A little background on why I named this blog what I did.

I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

Happy Birthday to Katie

Inever get to share my only grand daughter with my readers. She is Katie Ann and she is 4 years old today! Living in southern, Ca. the opportunity to see much of her or her little brother Andy is scarce. Her father, my oldest son Eric and his wife Cindy are having a birthday party for her today at Eric's in-laws home. Eric a school teacher is also a professional photographer. He told me the theme to Katie's birthday today is Strawberry Shortcake. He has a personal website of his children and I went and found these recent pictures of Katie Ann. I am sure these are the pictures on her birthday invitation that for no fault of anyone's I did not receive.
Katie Ann

Katie was the first and ONLY girl born in my family since me. She now has identical twin girl cousins. The old family name is starting to produce some girls, and it's about time! Lol!!!
Is she a doll or what!

Heron(e) minute gone the next

An unexpected heron at the Mill pond.
I am sorry because I zoomed in too close before he flew off after the 2 pictures I did take.
He has been around here since I have been back from southern, Ca. so I am going to try to be prepared next time I walk out that way. I do not think he is the one I have taken pics of in the winter. This guy seems to be a lot bigger!

P.S. I just would like to wish my friend Charlie a very Happy Birthday. It was him and his wife Cindy whom took us into their home earlier this month while we went down to so. Ca. for my Dad's funeral.
That was sooo very nice of them to do that for us ya know? especially since they were not (are not) part of the family. But these guys were right there for us in our greatest time of need. I can not thank them enough. There really is nothing better in this life than true good friends!
Happy Birthday Charlie.
PEACE!!!

You say it's your birthday!

Today was/is my birthday. I turned plenty-nine. Yep I am plenty-nine years old today. When I opened my eyes for the first time this morning, my hubby said "Happy Birthday , Baby" .
I have to admit I felt as if he was actually waiting for me to open my eyes, so that he could say those words to me. It really started my day out in a great way and I am so very thankful for that.
With that said, and the day beginning, I then received a call from my girlfriend Gayla wishing me the same. When my eyes were opened enough for me to actually see the written word I was bombarded with many wonderful, sometimes humorous and sometimes serious sentiments from a new friend of mine I just met this year via e-mail. It was soooo very wonderful to get these. Its funny, but as the day wore on it became more and more meaningful to get these birthday wishes from my hubby and Gayla and my new friend.
Later on in the day my dear sweet Jeremiah Lee went to his Mom's house who just so happens to live next door to me. (Well there's one empty house in between) So I went there for a visit and Jeremiah and I and his mom Cory took some pictures. So again my picture(s) of the day will be my Jeremiah Lee. These are not the first nor will they be the last I will have for pictures of the day.
I can never get enough of him!!!

Soooo here's some posing on Grandma's birthday with her Little man

This was the actual last one and as you can see by his expression he was done POSIN'
It was like "Grandma, I have had enough!!!"

Here he is with his mom Cory and her dog "Jake"

I sort of kind of caught them not POSIN'
They were both giggling because the dog kept making Jeremiah  slip off the snow.

And as usual I save my favorite of  the day  for last!!!

Yarn Shopping on my Anniversary Day 48

Srince Dave was sleeping up in the room, I went downstairs to do a little gambling, and I do mean little. I am not a gambler . There's just something about throwing money in a machine and not getting a gallon of milk or tomorrow nights dinner or the electricity paid that keeps me from feeding these money hungry machines much money. I did although have a $20.00 on me with the intent of feeding a machine. I got a little lucky and won (3) $33.00 jackpots in a row on (3) $1.80 bets. I took my $99.00 winnings and ran with it, right across the street from our room.
Above is the Atlantis from JoAnns. Even sideways it is a beautiful building. So yarn shopping is what I did on my actual Anniversary!

Since we got there I had noticed a JoAnns store. JoAnns is a store that sells material, and notions and stuff like that. I had never been in one but always wanted to go. I am a avid crocheter and I am almost done with a bedspread I have been crocheting and I was hoping to find a couple more skeins I need. I was lucky as they did have what I was looking for with a whole lot more. I got some beautiful yarn out of this store. I truly felt like a real winner today. It is nice to physically hold an item from a win from a money hungry machine.

I did not forget my husband on his birthday today, I wrote Happy Birthday to him with soap on the bathroom mirror as he was sleeping! LOL!!!

Birthday's, Anniversary's and Reno Nevada Day 46

Finding out that I was going to Reno approximately 5 hours before I took these pictures from our room out the windows (that's why you see all the glare) of the Atlantis Hotel.
We are here and I guess are going to be here through Monday in the celebration of my husband Dave's birthday which is the 19th and our wedding anniversary which is also the 19th of October.

September 14th, Eddogs Birthday

Today is September 14th. A day that I will never forget. It was my husbands birthday. Edward Lee Mosley, would have been 57 years old today. We were known as Eddog and Alley Cat. So today I had planned on getting to the Cemetery with my boys but life goes on and lives are busy and we did not make it there. Ed is buried right here at the Westwood Cemetery, in the back in a very nice spot. So no pictures today, just quiet reflections.

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
