A little background on why I named this blog what I did.

I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

Veterans Day , Anytown U.S.A.

Veterans Day! A big day for my family and hopefully a day of remembrance for all. I know that today my 87 year young father will go or has already gone to the Olive Lawn Cemetery in La Mirada, Ca. to place flowers on my mothers grave. She is a veteran of WWII from the United States Coast Guard where she met my father also a veteran of WWII from the United States Coast Guard.
If you want to read a sweet love story of these two it can be seen here .

I also have my 3rd born son Troy Mosley whom is from Westwood/Pinetown who I proudly brag about already at the tender young age of 24 is already a combat veteran from doing a 18 month tour in Iraq.
For a time Troy had his picture hanging in Plumas Bank, the Westwood Ca 96137 branch along with other locals that had or were on their way to Iraq or joined the military. It always just hit my heart and soul to see so many of our local youth join the military. It was very profound in deed.
His grandfather from his fathers side Douglas Fairbanks Mosley too was a retired Army major, being in WWII and the Korean war. Actually and truly flying helicopters for the 4077th M.A.S.H. unit just like the T.V. show M.A.S.H.

So my post today is simplistic, my flag hanging off of our newly built deck with pride!
We must never lose sight of what these men and woman past, present, deceased or alive have done!
Happy Veteran's Day, You are all thought of fondly by just a girl in Westwood/Pinetown Ca

Red beautiful morning sky, NOT!!! Day 59

This morning as I awoke to my "Buick" wanting to go outside, (no, that is not my car it is my dog) I noticed how bright red the sky was as the sun was coming up! I am usually not awake at that time of the morning because I just don't have to be. ( After years of having to be up at the crack of dawn to get a child off to school, those days are now over, and trust me when I say I savor every morning being able to do so.) (sleep past the roosters crow!)
Anyway my father, a man who was in the United States Coast Guard during World War 2 was always heard by me, as I was growing up, saying
"Red sky's at night, sailors delight. Red sky's in the morning sailors take warning."
This meaning the seas would be stormy or not.

When I noticed the beautiful photogenic sky this morning, I grabbed my camera with the intention of the bright red heavens to be my post of the day! Back to the fact it was just too early for me. I could not capture the beauty as it wrapped all of itself from every angle around me and my camera.
In my now blighted hope of the beauty that I can not share today I give you a bird. Yep, a bird, who just so happens to be eating out of a bird feeder/chipmunk feeder that I endearingly called my "Feel good project" on my other website, Wood Alley. The full post of this attempt at me making a feeder to somewhat, sort of, kinda, with wishful thinking to look like my dog "Buick"can be seen here at My feel good project

And my best end of "Buick" as it is the most close to looking like him (although this picture was not taken today nor the top left one either)

So that's all I could come up with for my post of the day. We are experiencing a storm blowing in and I have been outside for most of the day trying to get the wood just brought in from the woods , split and stacked into the wood shed.
It's in the air. Winter , she is about to show herself!

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
