Well earlier this year this town closed out pharmacy. A terrible thing to do considering it is 21 miles over a mountain pass to the town of Susanville, or 13 miles to Chester, Ca. a diferent county and not the greatest road to travel in the winter.
Our community is made up of older folk and young families with little babies/kids. This was a real hard ship for all.
Back to my story
On July 31st they closed our clinic here in Westwood due to budget cuts. I do not see our town making it through this. It is much to hard to travel to the 2 towns listed above in the winter for our aging and our young families.
Yep, I fear this is the straw.
Our town will become a ghost town.
The Westwood rumor mill says the bank, our only bank has 90 days to close its doors. Of course that is a rumor and perhaps a later post.
