A little background on why I named this blog what I did.

I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

Follow the signs to Pinetown

Signs on Hwy 36, our main Hwy. These are taken on the corner of Hwy 36 and Hwy A-21 where A Shell Gas station is located. If you are traveling on 36 this is the only station between Susanville (21) miles away or Chester (13) miles away.

Coming from Susanville towards Westwood

To get to Westwood you would take a left here if you were on the Hwy going west

1st sign you would see,

If you turned your head to the left going down the street

This is the street towards Westwood once turned

About 2/3rds down the stret above you would see this sign . You turn left here and you are then in Pinetown where I live. Population 300. To get to Westwood you would continue to go straight.

Sign, sign everywheres a sign!

Intention! means "A plan of action" is what my dictionary "The American Heritage Dictionary" states. I had one today. It was to walk to the store, and then from there I was going to go and walk to our local Drs. office (Westwood Family Practice) because I wanted to get weighed. I know that sounds weird, but since I have been trying to quit smoking and have a quit date in my brain of March 1st, I have been interested in what I weigh now. Then I planned on going to our local thrift store. I have not been there in quite awhile. All that was not meant to be. As I laced up and tied my second boot strap and was ready to rock and roll down town I was met by an old friend that does live in Westwood, but whom I have not seen in a couple of years. Sooo , I had a nice enjoyable talk with my girlfriend, and we got good gossip talk going on LOL!!!
However I was in a panic on what I was to do with my picture(s) for today when she left a little after 4:15 and the sun was no longer in my favor when it came to pictures. So I will be the first to admit, that today I have odd and not "connecting" pictures for the day. On the other hand I am surprised this has not happened sooner.
So here goes!

Sooo like yesterday I found this more than pink, red, awesome in color willow. This is in the yard 2 doors down. I guess it has been been hidden under snow, OR changed colors overnight! LOL!!!

Out of the two willow pics of today, I like this the best. It is simpler or perhaps it is the rock in the background that makes me like this one better.

But this next one is my little dog "Buick". Today he saw me getting ready to take my long ass walk. The whole time he thought he was going to go (which unbeknown to him he was not going to go.) He is never allowed to go with me uptown because I have to bring his sister Nala also, and those two just do not pay attention to me, nor cars, nor anything else that has safety involved . They get waaay tooo excited.
And that is what happened as I opened my front door today as my girlfriend was leaving.

"Buick" obviously did not read the sign in his excitement

Signs, Signs in Lassen County

Map of California highlighting Lassen CountyImage via WikipediaSigns, Signs, everywhere theres a sign, but in Pinetown Ca, 96137 in Lassen County they just happen to be on the same pole!

or should I say fence post!
As can be seen, that storm from yesterdays post just blew right on over the mountain! It is a beautiful, sunny day today, but crispy chilly!

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
