A little background on why I named this blog what I did.

I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

Look closely

Hummingbirds are still here and looking for that food. Much better than the other birds that are beginning to find my apples!

Can you see him on the left hovering around the feeder?

I like this shot. The wings and tail is blurry but the eye stands out!

Red headed woodpecker

This Red headed woodpecker has been a constant companion now at my house for weeks. I have been unable to capture him with my camera. I don't know if it makes any sense but when I WAS able to do so today, it was right in the middle of a cloudburst along with lightning coming up over "my mountain" not quite hitting us yet. Matter of fact all the birds outside were acting strange.
So for todays picture(s) , a Red headed woodpecker frozen on the apple tree.

In this one he is actually looking over at the storm approaching. You can see the street is still dry, but it came right after this picture was taken. It only lasted maybe 10 minutes

Apple Blossoms

Apple tree's and flowers are showing a bit of color. Actually on my street only one Apple tree has colors and this is it. We have one as most people do in their yard, so I guess it's a different kind of Apple.
Regardless it is very pretty on the eyes. Finally we are S-L-O-W-L-Y getting color in Pinetown!
Thank goodness for Apple Blossoms!

Camera Critters and a hummer

This is rather an odd colored hummingbird for around here. Never seen one with just a "beard" (for lack of a better word) of red on it's throat like this.

I have decided to post this also for Camera Critters as this was going to be my post for today on this blog any how. I thought his odd coloring of him was worth posting, and perhaps someone may know what kind of hummingbird this is. I live in northern Ca. in the mountains.

My little chickadee's

My little chickadee. He's so cute. Living in my apple tree, busily building a nest in the hole you can see the one looking out of.
Anyone that reads this blogknows by now how much I love all feathered friends.

Can you see him?

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
