A little background on why I named this blog what I did.

I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

Friendship Award

Cheryl Ann is the name of the person that gave me my very first award. I have seen these awards on peoples blogs since I started blogging and was always curious, (and yes, a tad bit jealous) when I would see people with more than one. But I am jealous no more. Somewhere in cyberspace Cheryl and I crossed paths. I am pretty sure it was through memes.
She stopped by here on this blog and left comments and I did the same. We have a lot in common it seems including a lot of blogs. LOL!!!
(But you can never have too many now can you)

Desert Horses is where I found the award after she notified me, and just like a kid in a candy store, I must have wrote her a half dozen times asking her how this worked, what I do, etc. I am honestly surprised she even wanted me to have it after the way I drove her nuts! LOL!!!

But I do believe I understand it now. And this is how it works,

"These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbon of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give attention to these writers.
Deliver this award to eight more and include the cleverly written text into the body of your awards"

So here goes.

I would like to give the first one right back to Cheryl at another of her blogs that I really love. It is called palm desert daily blog. A photo blog with great pics of the desert. This is my way of saying Thank you Cheryl for putting up with me and for giving me this friendship award. It means a great deal!

#2 I would like for Drowsey Monkey to have it. I do not remember how I came across her blog months ago, but it was in her Drowsey Monkey blog where I started noticing the photo memes. Her new on at Mellow Yellow Monday has become a personal challenge for me in trying to find ANYTHING yellow in my neck of the woods! Also her original blog ALWAYS has something going on and I look forward to each and every one of her posts

#3 I would like Jana of Susanville Daily Photo to have one. Susanville is only 21 miles over a mountain from Pinetown where I live. I have lived in Susanville off and on when my husband was alive and our kids were little. So everyone of her posts on her blog hits home for me. She has always commented on this blog here and turned me onto some of the ins and outs of Daily Photo blogs. She has been perhaps my most faithful reader since I started Pinetowns First Lady.

#4 Sarah of Gresham Photo Blog is someone else I would like to pass this on to. I know nothing about her, but her blog is of the town I was born in and lived in the first 1 year and 1/2 years of my life. But my family and I went back every summer to visit our family, of which I still have there living in Gresham. Again her blog is like a trip down memory lane.

I will finish up the remaining 4 in the next couple of days. So to Cheryl, bless your heart and thanks so much AND
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!

I really, really have met some kind, helpful, wonderful people here in Cyberspace. Along with great blog reads. Thank you

I wanted to give one of these to Eric S. of Ruminations of a Small Town Mountain Boy. However he states on his blog he does not do awards. I respect that and will of course do as he wishes. But I still think his blog is sooo worth mentioning and checking out. As soon as you start to read one of his posts, you will know what I mean.

Mother Nature had a good cry today Day 62

Today has been a very and much needed rainy day. A day when you do not even want to really venture outside. A day that if I were a little bit different in my way of thinking I simply would not have even gotton dressed. Getting dressed on a day like today seems almost foolish.  The wind is blowing in such a boisterous gale that my hatless head would become no more than a 60's beehive hairdo, the rain an unwanted shower. Mother nature has done today what has been needed for quite awhile, and other than this little rant I am thankful she is here.
On a lighter side because of her appearance I was wondering how I would pull off a picture of the day.
But I was lucky!
My son and his girlfriend along with my  Jeremiah Lee came over to see dear old mom and try to brighten up her day. So with my camera in hand my picture(s) of the day is Travis and Tiffany reading this blog for the very first time. They had not been told yet by me that I had started this one. However day before yesterday, my young one Hunter E. and his brother Troy decided to "Google"  Pinetowns First Lady and they found it. So my secret is out. (It wasn't meant to be a lifelong secret but perhaps a 3 or 4 month period before I planned on sharing in case I could not keep it up) so I decided to tell Travis and Tiffany myself before the cat, (that would be alley-cat) got out of the bag!

and just to show how much water we got today, these are pictures of my chairs on our newly built front porch and the water they were able to hold. All in all "Today was a VERY rainy day"
It is almost scary to think of what it may have been like if this were or had been all snow!

Oh and did I mention alllllll the pine needles, "A blowin' in the wind"

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
