A little background on why I named this blog what I did.

I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

The Animal House at the" White House" wishes you a Happy New Year

On September 9th of 2008 when I decided to try my hand at a "photo diary" or a picture a day blog, I ended up making my dog "Buick" be post #1. I entitled it Buick will be day 1 which you can see by clicking on the link I just provided.
Today my hubby called me into the living room to show me that "Buick" had gotton himself up on the railing of our newly built front porch to eat some bread.

Just a few minutes earlier I had spotted a bunch of Chickadee's in our apple tree looking for food to eat so I had set some bread out on the railing, waiting and hoping to catch some pictures for this blog today.
Instead this is what I get!

Old Buick being the "King of the Railing"
The irony to this is when I came in and realized I was going to use these pictures today for this blog is that it is New Years Day. The first day of the New Year and I find myself placing "Buick" again as the 1st post of the New Year.

He was the first post for this blog,

And he ends up being the 1st post of the New Year!

And as I cropped the two above pictures, I have to say that I am glad my hubby called me to the window,

Because as "Buick" has himself in a little bit of a quandary on how to get down, (he sees me taking pictures of him through the window)

And his little sister "Nala" is down on the ground where she is suppose to be, she gives me this look like, "See, mom I ain't doin' nuthin' wrong! but Buicks in trouble I bet"
I find myself enriched with some really cute pictures of my dogs on the first day of the New Year!

Soooo from part of my family (the dog part) and I , Iwe wish you a wonderful New Year from Pinetown in Westwood, Ca. 96137!
PEACE!!!

Happy New Year!!!

On this the official last day of 2008. A year with 366 days in it due to it being a leap year. I am ending this year(not blog,) with a picture of a press. I talked my hubby into walking around the block with me today. It was a beautiful day today weather wise and we ended up walking around all the blocks in this town except one, and it is not really a block, it is more a cul-de-sac. There were many a picture to be seen and many that were taken, but for today, I chose a press. Sitting in the front yard as an ornamental of sorts, it has been before me many, many a time only to be unnoticed. For some reason it just jumped out at me and I knew it was the "one." That picture, that reason, for this blog. To make me observe things that I normally may only see.
Even though the calendar year is over, I still have 246 days left to fulfill my promise to myself that I would post (1) one picture a day for a year.
"kinda funny huh? considering I hardly ever post just ONE picture in a day"
So for day 366 of a calendar year and 119 days
of my blog year I will post a press.

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
