A little background on why I named this blog what I did.

I should probably do a little explaining on my title of this blog. First my last name is White. Therefore I live in the "White House." Living in the "White House" makes me the 1st Lady. My physical address says I live in Westwood Ca. (not the one by Los Angeles) but a little mountain town in Northeastern Ca. However I really live in a section out of Westwood known as Pinetown. With all the joking going on between my friends, I inevitably became Pinetowns 1st Lady living in the "White House." With all that said, this is just going to be a more personal blog of my life here in Westwood/Pinetown. My family and friends being a big part of it.
Originally I really wanted to take a picture a day for one year and post it on this blog. Perhaps like a photo diary. My life though is quite quiet and perhaps is not photo worthy for a picture a day but I plan on trying. So why not hop in and take a ride with me through little mountain town U.S.A. You may just love it as much as I do!

13 days of hell

The last day I posted on this blog was May 29th. The reason for this was  my father died on May 30th. He was 87 years old and lived in the house I grew up in. This house was /is in La Mirada ,Ca.

Up until 1 and 1/2 years ago my Dad was in perfect health. A fall and subsequent break in two vertabrae's changed all that. He had a lot of pain, and the fear of falling again in a round about way made him fearful of walking like he always did. The less he walked, the less exercise he got. He slowly started to not go places and it was just an awful downhill spiral from then on. Last December my father was the passenger in a car that was rear ended at a stop light and those two discs were re-broke in that accident. From then on Daddy never really walked again. It was awful to see such an out going and healthy man start living the way he did. The pain was extreme tho' he did very little complaining. Relief came to him by lying down, which in turn kept the downhill spiral going.

I have been down in southern Ca. with family and friends to bury this wonderful and funny man that most considered a friend but known by me as Daddy. It has been a rough 13 days.
I have been home now for 2 days with no interest in taking pictures let alone posting. I am still reeling in my reality.

But this afternoon a little chipmunk jumped up on my windowsill as if to say take a picture of me. I am cute, I know I am making you smile if only from the inside. You must post me today, it is important to you, you just might not know it yet.

I listened and I am posting this lil guy, because he did make me say AHHH! and he did bring my first smile in 13 days.
Sooo this is my picture(s) for today.

I keep bird food in the crack of this windowsill for birds and the chipmunks

This is the first one I have seen this year.

Might as well lay down and eat

And he is rather cute.

Allison, I am so sorry to hear about your father. My dad was 88 when he slipped and fell in the shower. He never regained consciousness. I know what you are going through. Email me if you wish. We can talk. Don't worry about your blogs. Your own mental health comes first.

Howdy Hi!
I would love to hear what you have to say. Why not leave me a comment?

View Larger Map This is where I live. To the right of Westwood barely visible is the little section I live in called Pinetown. We have probably 150 to 200 people for our population. Westwood on the other hand is HUGE by comparison with a population of around 2000!
