First thing in the morning when I wake up (if I do so before 7 a.m.)this time of year and in early spring we have had a pair of Blue Jays that make their home in a pine tree across the street from us and our own pine tree in our back yard. I have been trying for over the week to get a picture of this couple. What amazes me is they are so flighty (no pun intended but might as well be). I make one move and they are gone where as the little chickadee's that call out apple tree home don't even flinch when I get close up.Today I did the best so far so I have decided to post it. Placing bread on our railing of the porch I was able to take fairly good close ups although through my front window. I have lived in this house for 6 years now and I see the same two twice a year. I know its the same pair, and maybe I will I will be able to prove it to myself with my little camera come spring time!
I think that this is the male and only the male. Maybe I can get the female tomorrow, but as you can see below, Buick and Nala decided they LOVE bread.
Poor Nala is not the "top dog" even though she weighs 3 possibly 4 times as much as Buick. I guess in the dog world Buick was here first, therefore Buick is the king of his castle. So Nala only gets to lick the crumbs. As you can see though her diet has much more in it than crumbs!
