Mrs. Q is what this gal has been affectionately called as long as I remember. Fletcher Walker Elementary School was her place of employment before she retired awhile back. She was the school librarian, her last name was too hard to pronounce for some of the younger students and that is how she became known as Mrs. Q. She lives directly across the street from me, and this woman has more get up and go than people my age, (for sure me!) I am always in awe of the hard work I see her doing. She brings in her own armloads of wood, and she shovels the snow in the winter. Matter of fact, no matter what time of year it is, you will always see her out and about, working in her yard. Be it snow shoveling or raking all the pine needles from the huge pine trees in her yard, you will see her out there working. If that were not enough there is a house directly next door to us that is empty but Mrs. Q knows the owners and she takes care of the outside of that house also. You will see her watering that yard, picking up the newspapers from out front. Generally just making sure this other house is always looking nice also. I have a little joke I say when I get up in the mornings and see Mrs. Q out there working so hard, I like to say I need to go and take a nap now because watching Mrs. Q working so hard can just plum wear me out. She is a wonderful neighbor and I am thankful I have a neighbor such as she!
