Today I took the dogs all over Pinetown for a long walk. It was a beautiful day, but you can feel the fall coming in these mountains. Cool in the mornings now. It sure does not look like we are going to get any rain like I wrote about yesterday. But that is so typical of Lassen County. You really do not know what the weather will be like from day to day . I have seen it real nice and warm here and then have snow on the ground the next evening.
This is just an old fire hydrant I thought I would snap a picture of. It is located a round the corner from the "White House."
It almost looks like it has a fairly new coat of paint on it, and if I am right then most likely the Prisoners from the California Correctional Center (or C.C.C.) came out and did it. The prisoners from that prison do an awful lot for this community, such as clearing brush, they clear snow from the hydrants in the winter. etc. They even use to keep the cemetery really well kept. I just don't think they are still doing that any more. The upkeep there (at the cemetery) just is not the same anymore.
